If you are going and don’t know what to look for, then go for an adhesive based primer since they are going to work best on plastic. After you have deployed a fine coat of the primer you are going to have to leave the furniture dry until the next morning. That way you are going to be 100% sure that it is completely dry before you are going to add the second coat. When you wake up add the next coat and let it dry – it is going to make it possible for the paint to attach better.

The actual paint should be something that is designed for painting outdoor plastic, and if it is it will work just fine on your plastic patio furniture. Once you have applied a smooth and an even layer you can add another once it has dried. Remember that the better the results if you add two or three layers but you are going to do fine with just one if you don’t want to do the extra work.
